Community Litter-picks in Bush Hill Park

We Love Enfield: Community Litter Picks, together with the Friends of Bush Hill Park have organised a litter-pick in the park on Sunday 10th February 2019, starting at 10am. This will be their second community litter pick of the year.

The litter picks are very popular with local residents. Litter pickers and sacks are provided and children use scavenger sheets to record the various items of litter they collect. Afterwards, over free refreshments, people share their most interesting finds and children are encouraged to chalk their messages about caring for the environment on the paved patio.

Children from George Spicer School presented the Friends Group with some additional litter pickers for the project to say thank you for all their hard work in making the park such a lovely place to come to.

Carole Stanley, Co-Chair of the Friends of Bush Hill Park said: “The idea for these community litter picks came from a local Dad who was looking for something positive to do with his children on a Sunday morning. These additional litter pickers from George Spicer School will come in very handy now that these events are becoming so popular. And people are noticing how much tidier the park is looking and thanking us for what we do. That’s what makes it all worthwhile.”
